The Tepehua neighborhood, located on a hillside in Chapala, Jalisco, is one of the poorest areas in the state, facing issues such as violence, substance abuse, and lack of access to education.
In 2010, a group of volunteers started a community center with the goal of empowering the community. After raising funds and renovating a building with the support of the Rotary Club, the center began as a community dining hall and expanded with programs for counseling, childcare, and a bazaar.
The center aims to address the needs of families, promoting local volunteer work to strengthen the sense of pride and hope within the community. It is a nonprofit organization registered in Mexico.
100% of profits at Tepehua Treasures thrift shop go to support our Center.
